All divisions are asked to produce programme specifications for the subject provision for which they are responsible.
As part of the Public Information on Quality initiative and preparations for the introduction of the European Diploma Supplement, a University template for Programme Specifications has been developed.
Programme Specifications should be aimed at, and meaningful to, current and intending students.
Programme specifications form part of the approval documentation for new programmes and are considered as part of the documentation for Academic Learning and Teaching Review.
The template allows a relatively brief overview of a programme, with pointers to sources of information as required. It has been agreed by LTC (now QEC) and Academic Council that the template will be rolled out as new programmes are approved and as divisions go through the academic Learning and Teaching review cycle.
