Requirements for Entry to the UK

Passport

Everyone entering the UK must provide a valid international passport or travel document which satisfactorily establishes identity and nationality.

Entry Clearance/Visa

All International Students (not EEA or Swiss Nationals) intending to study in the UK for longer than six months must apply for entry clearance (visa) before leaving their home country. If you are coming for a shorter stay you may also need a visa, depending on your nationality and your study plans.

The University of Stirling is a Highly Trusted Sponsor under Tier 4 of the Points Based System for immigration.

If you are already in the UK studying and need to extend your stay to complete your studies, the International Student Adviser can assist you in making an application.

In August and September, the International Student Adviser will deliver sessions on how to extend your visa to remain in the UK to continue your studies; he also operates the ‘Student Batch Scheme’. If you want to use this scheme the Internationl Student Adviser will assist you to send your application to the UK Border Agency.
