Study abroad in Stirling
Welcome to the University of Stirling! This is a wonderful place – beautiful and vibrant, relaxed and engaging. We have one of the finest campuses in Europe and have an excellent reputation for both research and teaching.
We admit around 175 study abroad and exchange students each semester. Around half come as part of organised exchange programmes, with partner universities around the world. Others apply directly themselves, or through a study abroad provider listed in the Programme Providers page. Most are in their third year of study, but we welcome all students from all years of undergraduate study.
We welcome applications from EU ‘free mover’ students for one or more semesters. Please follow the standard application process and select ‘Study Abroad or other visitor’.
Students have the choice of when in the academic year they wish to study abroad at Stirling:
- Term time: autumn or spring semester, or both!

Students from North America coming to the University of Stirling as a study abroad or exchange student are invited to apply for
