Out of Hours Support

The Student Support Services Team are not always available to provide support to students 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Unfortunately there are times when we are not immediately on hand to help.

Here are the times when we won't be able to help you immediately:

  • Monday to Friday, outwith 9am to 5pm
  • Weekends
  • During periods where the University is closed - Christmas, Good Friday and Easter Monday

However, this do not mean that you are alone.  There is a lot of support available to you during these times.

Here are some ways you can seek help until you can come in to see us in the Student Services Hub or at an appointment with an Advisor.

In an emergency

A situation can be regarded as an emergency if it requires an immediate response and/or the student will not accept help or is at risk of causing harm to him/herself or to others. Examples of this are when a student has made a suicide attempt, is behaving violently, or is badly injured.

Off Campus

In an emergency where an Ambulance, Police or Fire are required you should call 999 for emergency services.

On Campus

In an emergency where an Ambulance is required, you should call 999 and then alert Security by calling x 2222 from an internal phone or 01786 467999 from a mobile phone.

In an emergency where Police, Fire or Security are required, you should call University Security on x 2222 from an internal phone or 01786 467999 from a mobile phone. University Security staff are available on this number 24 hours a day.
