Golf classes for children - make the putt!

Social skills, hand-to-eye co-ordination, fresh air, family time and low impact exercise – there are just a few reasons to get your child into golf!  We offer a range of golf classes during term time and school holidays for children from aged five upwards. Children will have fun learning the basic skills as well as the spirit of golf.

 The classes are taught by experienced golf coach, Macrina Crawford.

 The classes are structured on five core areas:

  • Putting
  • short game
  • long game
  • playing
  • the golfer’s code

Classes are based at the Sports Centre and at Aithrey Golf Course.

Outlines

There are six levels to the Junior Golf Programme. After mastering the skills at each level, golfers will be invited to attend the next level of class by the class instructor.

 Description
Firstclub golf Building on the skills learned at Tri-golf, this class is aimed at children aged five and over . Coaching starts indoors, with block 4 outdoors within the driving range setting.
Level 1 Children learn the basic skills of putting, chipping and full swing in fun sessions using real golf equipment on the driving range and practice area. This class is aimed at children aged seven and over.
Level 2 Sessions build on the Level 1 skills and include the elements of pitching and bunker play, rules and etiquette. This class is aimed at children aged 10 and over , with previous golf experience.
Level 3 Level 3 classes are primarily for children aged 11 and over , developing consistency and knowledge of the game whilst introducing children to the golf course.
Level 4

This level focuses on game play on the course and developing tee shots, short, medium and long iron play. Children will be working towards gaining and lowering a handicap, for golfers aged 12 and over , with previous course experience.

Level 5 An advanced class for children aged 13 and over ,  sessions focus on game play on the course. Children will work on lowering their handicap with a view to joining a golf club.
Individual Tuition

Individual Tuition

You can arrange golf lessons at the University with Tim Mitchell, a PGA level 3 coach and professional for more than 14 years. Using his unique ParSystem Golf, Tim tailors each golf lessons to the individual, focusing on the areas required for improvement.

Lessons take place at the University Golf Course, which has a dedicated putting green and practice areas. Lessons are available from April until mid-October on a one-to-one or one-to-two basis and should be arranged directly with Tim on 07812 983888 or tim@parsystemgolf.com.

Winning Students scholarships
