The Faculty is a world-leading research environment; in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF), 100% of the submissions from the former Schools of Applied Social Science and Education were judged to be world leading or internationally excellent in terms of the quality of the research environment and their impact. Our research addresses the many challenges arising from political, economic, social, cultural, environmental and technological changes in society. The Faculty provides a critical space within which to address these challenges with our students and facilitate the generation of ideas in a range of contexts. Through our research and teaching programmes we are well placed to support those who want to make a difference in the world.
