We are delighted to announce that The Centre for Child Wellbeing and Protection will be formally opened by Ms Aileen Campbell MSP, Minister for Education and Young People; and that our keynote guest speakers are Professor Marian Brandon, Professor of Social Work and Director of the Centre for Research on Children and Families at the University of East Anglia, and Professor Julie Taylor, Professor of Child Protection, University of Birmingham.
There will also be presentations by the Children’s Parliament, Scotland’s Centre of Excellence for children’s participation and engagement; Ms Ashley Simpson, a Who Cares? Scotland Care Leavers Ambassador and student at the University of Stirling; and a concert by the Big Noise, an orchestra programme that fosters confidence in children and young people.
The launch is taking place on the 14th of March from 14:00 to 18:30 at the Iris Murdoch Building, University of Stirling. Please note that this event is free to attend, but ticketed. Places can be booked via the University of Stirling’s online shop.
