The Behaviour and Evolution Research group focus on understanding the interaction between evolved capacities and actions in humans and other animals in the changing world of the 21st century.

We use evolutionary principles to guide our research on behaviour, welfare, communication and cognition in a wide range of species. Our research falls into 3 broad and inter-linked topics: Human Evolutionary Psychology, Comparative Cognition and Communication, and Animal Welfare and Conservation.
