Collecting your ID Card

Students commencing studies for 2017/18

In order to obtain your student ID card, you must have completed online enrolment and uploaded your photograph.

Students from within the UK and Europe

Students are required to present proof of their identity/immigration status before an ID card can be issued.  This should be your passport.

  • UK students - passport
  • EU/EEA students - passport or national ID card

The University encourages students to apply for a passport if you don’t currently own one. This form of official ID may be required when opening a bank account, applying for work or proving your age.

Student ID cards are available for collection from our Student Services Hub in the Cottrell Building:

  • 9am - 5pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • 10am - 5pm on Tuesdays.

Student ID cards for Highland & Western Isles nursing students will be posted to your campus to be issued.

ID card collection events, September 2017

In September 2017, you can collect your ID card at one of the following events:

Monday 4th September to Friday 7th September: Student Services Hub

  • Monday 4th September to Friday 7th September: Student Services Hub, Cottrell Building.
  • Sunday 10 September - Pathfoot Dining Room, 10am - 4.30pm
  • Monday 11 September - Pathfoot Dining Room,9.30am - 4.30pm
  • Tuesday 12 September – Cottrell 2B43, 10am - noon and 1pm - 4pm
  • Wednesday 13 September – Cottrell 2B43, 10am - noon and 1pm - 4pm
  • Thursday 14 September – Cottrell 2B43, 10am - noon and 1pm - 4pm
  • Friday 15 September – Cottrell 2B43, 10am - noon and 1pm - 4pm

 

Please ensure that you have uploaded your ID photograph by no later than Wednesday 6th September to ensure that your card is available for collection.

International students (new students)

You will need to upload your passport and visa (if applicable) via the 'Passport and Visa' upload link on your Portal.  Please refer to the Guide to uploading your Passport and/or Immigration Status document.

On your arrival at the University you will be required to present your original passport and immigration documents before you can collect your ID card.

In September 2017, you can collect your ID card at one of the following events:

  • Thursday 14 September – Cottrell 2B41, 10am - noon and 1pm - 4pm
  • Friday 15 September – Cottrell 2B41, 10am - noon and 1pm - 4pm

Distance Learning and Students Studying Overseas

Your ID card will be posted to your home address

Lingnan Institue of Further Education - student id cards will be posted to your Institute to be issued.

St Andrews and Stirling Graduate Programme

Once your enrolment has been confirmed your ID card will be posted to your home address.

Forth Valley Students

Student ID Cards will be passed to Forth Valley College to distribute. Please make sure you have uploaded a photograph through your student Portal. 

INTO Students

International Summer School

 Student ID Cards will be collected as part of your induction event. Please make sure you have uploaded a photograph through your student Portal.
