About me

I am a board certified veterinary pathologist and fish vet with a long standing interest in infectious disease in aquatic ecosystems. I qualified as a vet in 2002 from Toulouse, shortly before completig a Master’s degree in Aquatic Veterinary Studies at the University of Stirling. Throughout my career I have worked for two fish veterinary practices in Scotland, providing support to the Scottish aquaculture industry, completed a 3 year residency in veterinary pathology at the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in marine mammal pathology between the Sea Mammal Research Unit at the University of St Andrews and the Moredun Research Institute, Edinburgh in which I investigated infectious disease prevalence in Scottish grey seals with particular emphasis on environmental microbial pollution using cutting edge genomics.
