Eddy’s specialist areas are learners’ metacognitive knowledge of language learning and use of computer technology in language learning.
The focus of his PhD was the relationship between students’ beliefs about the formal-functional nature of language learning and the choices they make between inductive and deductive learning activities while they are learning in a CALL program.
His research interests focus on learning preferences and strategies in second language learning, particularly in CALL, and student perceptions of the nature and purpose of language learning tasks.
