University of Stirling graduate Elizaveta Frolova shared her story of start-up success this week at a gathering at the Scottish Parliament.

The reception, organised by Universities Scotland, celebrated universities’ contribution to economic transformation. Speakers included Willie Rennie MSP and Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills.

Elizaveta graduated in 2019 with a BA (Hons) in Economics and Finance. She went on to launch the award-winning company Inteldis, which provides tailored online English courses with native UK teachers. The business, based in The Hive, the start-up incubator space at Stirling University’s Innovation Park, has since expanded to address diversity and neuro diversity. Elizaveta has dyslexia and Asberger’s Syndrome.

Part of a showcase of 21 stories of economic transformation, Elizaveta met both Mr Rennie and the Cabinet Secretary. Also in attendance were Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Gerry McCormac and John Rogers, Executive Director of Research, Innovation and Business Engagement at the University of Stirling.

John Rogers said: “We were delighted to be part of an event which recognises the immense work universities are doing to contribute to economic transformation. One of the most exciting parts of my job is listening to students pitch business ideas and then seeing them go on to be a success. Elizaveta is a great example of that.”
