The University of Stirling is delighted to announce that the first cohort of students to obtain the dual qualification of an MSc Banking and Finance degree and Associated Chartered Banking status graduated on 25 November 2016. Chartered Banker is the gold standard for professionals working in the banking sector and is recognised globally as a measure of enhanced standards of excellence and professionalism. The Chartered Banker Institute formally accredited Stirling’s MSc Banking and Finance programme in December 2015, making it one of a select few UK programmes offering this level of recognition.
To celebrate this first time event, a presentation ceremony was organised after the main graduation, where the MSc Banking and Finance students were presented with their Associated Charter Banker certificates by the Chartered Banker Institute. Dr Lucey was delighted to have the opportunity to congratulate the students and meet their families on this special occasion.
Dr Siobhán Lucey, MSc Banking and Finance programme director, said: “This innovative partnership provides huge opportunities for our students and will equip our MSc Banking and Finance graduates with the academic and professional credentials needed to pursue successful careers in banking and financial services; it will also allow graduates of the MSc who wish to attain Chartered status with the Institute to follow an accelerated route, requiring study of just two further modules.”
