Stirling experts tackle the gender pay gap

Experts from the University of Stirling presented evidence to the Scottish Parliament’s Economy, Fair Work and Jobs Committee today, 25 April, as part of its inquiry into the impact of equal pay.

“What I Wish I Knew” conference established by MSc Investment Analysis Student Bernard Tawiah

Stirling Management School MSc Investment Analysis student Bernard Tawiah gave the opening address and first speech at the third annual “What I Wish I Knew” (WIWIK) conference on 24 March, 2017 at his alma mater, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Ghana. The conference is the brainchild of Bernard, who established it in the final year of his Bachelor degree studies at UCC, in spring 2015. Little did he know that it was to become an annual event that would attract 1,000 attendees and volunteers in 2017.

Royal Economic Society Prize 2017

Congratulations to Dr Tanya Wilson, of Stirling Management School, who, together with her co-authors Dan Anderberg, Helmut Rainer, Jonathan Wadsworth, has been awarded the 2017 Royal Economic Society Prize for their paper 'Unemployment and Domestic Violence: Theory and Evidence'.

CRISP is delighted to announce that it has joined forces with Routledge to provide a new book series titled 'Studies in Surveillance'. Stirling students’ strong finish in global trading competition

A team of Stirling Management School students have demonstrated their trading prowess by finishing in 27th place from the 595 teams that competed in the 2017 CME Group Trading Challenge. Organized by the world's leading market place for financial derivatives, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), this year saw 2,383 students from 242 universities, spread across 35 countries, participate in the online competition. The Stirling students are studying for the MSc in Investment Analysis, a Program Partner of CFA Institute, the leading global body of investment professionals.

Stirling MSc Investment Analysis Team Runners Up in UK Final of CFA Institute Research Challenge

A team of five students from the Stirling Management School’s MSc in Investment Analysis, a Program Partner of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute, were runners up in the UK Final of the CFA Institute Research Challenge. Four teams progressed from the initial round to the UK Final which was won by Cranfield University with King’s College London (third) and Exeter (fourth). Thirteen other teams competed in the initial round of the competition including Cambridge, CASS, Edinburgh, Imperial College, Lancaster, LBS, Oxford and Warwick.

MSc Banking and Finance cohort celebrate Chartered Banker success

Our first dual qualified cohort of students to obtain both an MSc in Banking and Finance and Associated Chartered Banking status graduated in November 2016. University of Stirling's MSc Banking and Finance is one of a select few UK programmes to offer the accreditation, which is the gold standard for banking professionals.

The University of Stirling Management School sponsored the 17th annual Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Awards, the Scotland’s leading environmental awards scheme which recognises and rewards businesses contributing to the country’s sustainable development by taking significant steps to improve or reduce their impact on the environment.
