Creating academic posters

Posters are an important part of academic discourse, particularly at research conferences. Information Services has a range of services to support the creation and presentation of academic posters for members of the University.

Information Services, in association with the Stirling Graduate Research School, has developed a brief guide to help you create a professional looking poster:  Creating Academic Posters Using Microsoft Powerpoint 2010. This covers essential preparation work; creating, positioning, sizing and editing that key component of a poster, the text box; inserting, positioning and sizing of images and graphs on your poster. There are also some useful hints and tips, including printing of your poster.

Information Services also has a printing service for your poster. Posters up to 1 metre wide by 30 metres long and laminated posters up to 900 mm wide by 30 meters long can be produced. For details refer to the Graphics & Print Services web pages at http://www.gps.stir.ac.uk/
