What is included in the Office 365 Pro Plus license?

Is this a full version of Office that will be available on my PC (not just online)?

Yes, this is full Office on the PC, Mac, iPhone and Android platforms

Will it uninstall my existing copy of Office?
No the software should not uninstall any existing installations of Office.  It is designed to run alongside previous installations.  It may change your file associations and set itself up as default however, which makes it look as if your previous copy of Office isn't there any more.  If you check in Control Panel > Programs, you should see both versions listed.

How do I download the software?

See table below

Windows PC/laptop  Logon to student email at http://office365.stir.ac.uk
Go to the 'Settings' cog in the top right corner
Select 'Office 365 settings' from the list
Choose 'Software'
Click 'Office' from the menu
Select either 32 bit or 64 bit*
Click 'Install'

Apple Mac   as instructions for Windows above - Office for Mac 2011 will be offered for download
iPhone/iPad there is no separate app for iPad but iPad users can use the iPhone app.
From the App Store, download the app 'Office Mobile for office 365' (FREE).  On first use, enter your university email address then login when prompted with your university password.
Android   Download the 'Office mobile for office 365' app from the Play store.  Login using your university email address then university password.

*Microsoft recommend that you install the 32 bit version of Office - find out why.
To find out if you have
a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows:
On Windows 7: click the Start button, right-click Computer then click Properties, then under System Type you should see either 32-bit or 64-bit operating system.
On Windows 8.0: on your keyboard press Windows Key and D together (to put into desktop mode), then hover the mouse in very bottom right corner, and from the popup menu click Settings, then PC Info.  On Windows 8.1: right-click the Start button then click System.

I've downloaded the software but it's asking for a product key/sign in?
There should be an option to 'sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription' or similar wording.  Choose this option and then enter your university email address as the username and your normal university password.

The software keeps asking me to enter my uni email/password..?
Yes - this is normal.  As the software is tied to your university account, it needs to check periodically that you are still a valid member of the university.  It should do this every 30 days.  Just enter your email address and password when prompted.

How many devices can I install the Office software on?
Up to 5 machines being Mac or PC. You can also run Office Mobile for Android and iPhone on up to 5 mobile devices.

What applications are included for PCs?

There is some excellent end user training on Office for Mac 2011 here:

Some end user help guides on Office Mobile for iPhone here.
Some end user help guides on Office Mobile for Android here and here.

What happens when I graduate?  Can I still use the Office software I've downloaded?
When you graduate, your Office365 account will revert to an Alumni license which will only allow access to the email component. This means that you will continue to have access to email only for 1 year following graduation.  As the downloaded software is dependent on you being a registered student with the university (hence the regular requirement for you to enter your university email address and password), it will cease to work the next time your software tries to contact our servers / asks you to login.  This depends on when the software last asked you to login - the maximum period between logins is 30 days so you may get a few days grace or you may find you cannot use the software almost immediately.
