We all play important roles in delivering the University' strategic objectives, and improving the student experience. Whether you're a professor or a porter, an administrator or academic, a technician or trainee - we welcome and value the views of all employees. 

Your feedback

The University is committed to gathering regular staff feedback, to enable us to:

  • attract and retain high-calibre staff
  • develop a culture of engagement
  • optimise work effectiveness, and to
  • foster a fulfilling working environment.

As part of this commitment, we're asking all employees to complete the Staff Survey, to let us know how well we're doing and what we need to improve upon.

The survey will open the week commencing Monday 6 November. This is your chance to tell us what you think about your working life at the University. Your feedback and contribution will help to inform change. 

Completing the survey

Once the survey is open, you'll receive an email with a unique password and a link to complete the survey online.

Staff who don’t have access to email will receive a paper copy. The survey can also be completed via a phone call with CAPITA, if you prefer, by calling the Freephone helpline 0800 587 3115.

Response Rates

The survey will only take around 10/15 minutes to complete.

What's been done since the last survey? Which changes have been introduced? Why is it important for you to complete the 2017 Staff Survey?

The University listened to your feedback from the last Staff Survey and responded to the issues and themes raised by implementing a number of new measures and activities. Five key areas identified for improvement were:

  • Workload and bureaucracy
  • Communication
  • Reward, recognition and development
  • Health, wellbeing and sustainability
  • Management, leadership and governance
