Women in Sport 2014 Conference

The first-ever Women in Sport Conference is being held at the University of Stirling, Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence, on Wednesday 8 October, 2014.

The conference will analyse how women can be empowered through sport, exploring the role of sport as a vehicle for positive body image, identities and relationships and will examine women in elite sport, as well as how student sport can actively promote equality and diversity.

The event is designed to inspire the next generation of women sporting stars and confirmed speakers include:
Shona Robison MSP (Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Commonwealth Games and Sport),
Eilidh Child (Commonwealth Silver Medallist),
Professor Leigh Robinson (Head of School of Sport, University of Stirling),
Susan Egelstaff (GB Olympic Badminton Player and Commonwealth badminton bronze medallist),
Alison Walker (Sports Journalist),
John Taylor
(Academic Researcher, University of Stirling)
