In November 2013 the University of Stirling Art Collection in conjunction with Stirling Decorative and Fine Arts Society and Forth Valley College held two portfolio days for final year school pupils studying art from across the Forth Valley.

These workshops were designed to facilitate pupils to prepare portfolio work for application to Art College.  The results of this work are currently on display in an exhibition in the Pathfoot Building at the University.  Pupils whose work is showcased in the exhibition reported that they found the workshops rewarding:

‘As a student who wishes to proceed to study art and design at a higher level, the two portfolio preparation workshops were of great inspiration and full of useful advice. As well as gaining a better understanding into how to produce and present a portfolio, the workshops allowed me to gain confidence in my own work. The techniques we used were unique and incredibly thought-provoking, I found it prompted me to become more open-minded and creative and definitely presented different skills and styles of my work’  Eilidh Gibson, Wallace High School
