Art Auction

Doors open at 5pm

Venue: Crush Hall, Pathfoot building, University of Stirling

Stumped for Christmas ideas?  On the lookout for that perfect, unique gift for the ones you love?  Look no further than the University of Stirling's art auction - lots of wonderful presents to suit every taste and pocket - and all proceeds go to a worthwhile cause.

The University of Stirling is pleased to host an auction of contemporary art to raise funds for the Scottish charity Ruvuma Development Aid (RUDA).  All the work in the auction has been donated by artists who believe in the school project’s ability to change lives by giving disadvantaged children the benefit of a really good primary education.

In this rural area of Tanzania there are few good schools and even the private schools can have up to 100 children per class with insufficient books or resources.

This auction is an opportunity to invest in a piece of work by some of our best contemporary Scottish artists, while at the same time supporting the building and development of the Ntimbanjayo Memorial School of Excellence. The funds raised from this auction will be used to complete the new school dormitory.

For those who cannot attend the live auction, bids can be placed by filling in the forms in the exhibition space and posting them in a sealed envelope in the box provided. Bidders will be contacted by phone after the auction if their bids have been successful.

To learn more about the school project and the RUDA charity please visit http://www.rudatanzania.org.uk or for more recent updates visit RUDA's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/RudaTanzania

An exhibition of the work will be available to view from Monday 25 November to Thursday 5 December in the Crush Hall of the Pathfoot Building. The artwork can also be viewed online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/rudatanzania

100% of all donations will go directly to aid the Charity.
