Join us for an interesting Innovation and Excellence lecture, delivered by Professor Katagiri, President of Future University in Hakodate, Japan. This lecture is part of a series of events promoting intellectual exchange between Japan and Scotland.  The University of Stirling is grateful to the support of the Japan Foundation and the Lord Robbins Fund.

Future University Hakodate was founded in 2000 to provide a unique futuristic education and research environment that could contribute to a 21st-century world with flourishing scientific technology, art and culture.  Their motto is “the future is not yet invented” and their 3 flagship research themes are: 

  • Mobile IT
  • Marine IT, and
  • Medical IT
