Venue: Atrium, Andrew Miller Building, University of Stirling

The University of Stirling invites you to the Trauma Conference 2015, with an introductory keynote from Jamie Hepburn, MSP, Minister for Sport, Health Improvement and Mental Health. Speakers including Professor David Bell, Professor Jayne Donaldson, Professor Brigid Daniel & Dr Brodie Paterson, University of Stirling, and external contributors.

People's experience of trauma has a profound impact on their lives and the society they live in. It affects their quality of life, their chances of success in education, their employment potential and the lives of their families.  This conference will present growing evidence of the harmful short and long term effects of poverty and deprivation on individuals, families and communities. It will provide a platform to discuss and explore the development of support structures attuned to future need. Additionally, it will provide a forum for discussing the implementation of trauma informed care and how this awareness can be embedded within our culture and society.
