Pre-sessional courses

The University of Stirling offers a variety of Pre-sessional courses each designed to help students develop the necessary language skills, independent learning and cultural awareness in preparation for the academic demands of University study.

If you have received a conditional offer to study with us, subject to achieving a minimum language requirement, the table below will help you decide which course (six week or 12 week) is right for you. This will depend on the level of English you have already attained and the English language entry criteria required by the chosen course of study.  The table below will advise you which course is right for you.

If you have received an unconditional offer then you have already met our standard English entry requirements. However, many students have found it helpful to study our three-week English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course before their degree course begins. This can help you adapt to your new study environment more quickly.

Please note - the online application for all pre-sessional courses is now open

Accommodation

When you have received your offer of a place on the programme, paid your tuition fees and received your CAS (Condition of Acceptance for Studies) then you are able to apply for your accommodation.
