How did you find out about the internship?

I found out about the internship through the Careers and Employability Service’s Stirling Internship Programme webpages.

Please tell us more about your internship organisation.

Impact Arts is a Scottish charity which funds social inclusion projects.

What were the main tasks you were involved in during your internship?

My main tasks involved researching the textile market online and doing market research on the high street.

What did you enjoy most about the internship and why?

I really enjoyed the opportunity to be independent and plan my own research.

What skills have you gained and further developed from the internship experience?

I have successfully learnt how to use SurveyMonkey. I have also further developed my communication skills and my ability to use software packages, such as Excel.

What were the most beneficial aspects of the Stirling Internship Programme for you?

Having a paid internship made me feel valued within the organisation.

What impact has this internship had on your personal development and your future career planning?

The internship has sparked my interest in the retail sector, allowing me to think about it as a future career.

What impact do you feel you have had on the organisation you have worked with?

I hope the textile range is successful and reached its target market.

What do you see as the benefits of an internship with this type of organisation?

The benefits of an internship with a 3rd sector organisation like Impact Arts is extremely rewarding as you can see the impact you are making directly,

What advice would you give to students considering applying for an internship through this programme next year?

Prepare for the interview and find out about other projects the organisation is involved in. Find something that you are interested in and that are keen to learn more about. It is a great experience to gain valuable skills and earn money during the summer break.
