Welcome to CLiS

Corpus Linguistics in Scotland (CLiS) is a voluntary network by and for those who are engaged in corpus research and/or are planning to conduct corpus studies.  The network welcomes corpus linguists at all educational levels and career stages (e.g. MA/PhD students, teachers, research assistants, academic staff).  Its open policy means that all members work on a voluntary basis and we try to maintain a free-of-charge policy for our events.

The main aims of CLiS are

  • to promote the corpus research which is being done in Scotland;
  • to facilitate networking amongst corpus linguists in Scotland;
  • to foster the academic development of CL students / early-career researchers in Scotland.

Since its announcement, CLiS has also gathered the interest of colleagues working in other UK regions (most notably, the North of England) and abroad, who are all very welcome to join us.
