Other campus libraries

Stirling has two other campus libraries. The Highland Health Sciences Library is located in Inverness and holds a wide range of resources in the field of Health Studies. The Western Isles Health Board in Stornoway operates a library comprising primarily medical and other health services material on behalf of the NHS and the University. An inter-site loan system allows borrowing from any of the campus libraries.

Online resources

Through the Information Services website you can access the library catalogue and a range of online resources, including indexing and abstracting databases, electronic journals and other electronic resources. The IS web pages also link to online library catalogues world-wide.

• Priority is given to offering a good range of bibliographic databases to help with identifying relevant material.
• An excellent document delivery service, linked to the British Library, enables you to obtain books and articles from elsewhere.
• We participate in SCONUL Access, a national scheme giving reciprocal borrowing rights for postgraduate students at participating UK Higher Education libraries.

Research repository

The Stirling Online Research Repository (STORRE) provides open access to a small subset of our theses in full text: PhD and Master's by Research. Since September 2006 all University of Stirling research theses are required to be submitted to the Repository.

Subject librarians

Departments have subject librarians, who can advise you on specialist collections and information sources. They also provide information skills training. Tailored workshops and seminars are provided for most taught postgraduates; for research postgraduates, individual consultations may be more appropriate.
