The University appreciates that moving away from home can be a daunting prospect and therefore provides a priority for all students in their first year of study for accommodation, as long as applications are received by the advertised date. Priority extends to one offer of accommodation.
All first year students, from any location, will normally be allocated a single study bedroom in a University residence, although in times of high demand students may be required to share a twin room. For Session 2012/13 accommodation available to first year students includes Andrew Stewart Hall, A K Davidson Hall, Geddes Court, Murray Hall, Alexander Court and Polwarth House. If specified accommodation is full, assistance will be given in securing alternative accommodation.
On-campus Halls of Residence are occupied predominantly by students in their first year of study and adult returners may therefore prefer other forms of accommodation.
