Masterplan

campus masterplan The original for the campus was prepared in the late 1960s and was an example of exceptional estate planning which cleverly integrated the University into the landscape setting of the historic Airthrey estate.

The campus has been evolving since then and the redevelopment of some of the residential accommodation is part of that continuing evolution of the original, visionary design.

A new masterplan for the campus was completed in 2011 and the redevelopment of the original lochside residential neighbourhood is being viewed in the context of the overall strategic vision for the estate.

In addition, the original design criteria are being used as a yardstick to ensure that the new accommodation is sympathetic to the architecture of the buildings that remain and will make a positive contribution to the stunning landscape setting of the campus.
