The Accommodation Package

girl studies in roomPostgraduate rooms have a bed with mattress, duvet and pillow, heater, chair, desk, lamp, mirror as well as storage for clothing and books. Electric power points are also provided (most shaver points are 110 volts and all other sockets 240 volts). Please note that the majority of study bedrooms do not have wash hand basins.

Duvets, pillows and a bedding pack are provided in all residences, though students are required to provide their own towels. Where there is no launderette on site, washer/drier machines are installed for residents' use.

All kitchens are equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, electric kettle and cleaning equipment, and some kitchens have microwave ovens. Cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are not provided.

There are several coin and card public telephones in the postgraduate residences. Students who require a personal telephone should make their own arrangements with British Telecom for installation of phone or fax, informing the Residential Services Office when they do so.

Alangrange

Alangrange

Located just off-campus, and within easy walking distance of all teaching buildings, Alangrange boasts 44 study bedrooms, each equipped with wash hand basin. The residence also offers a large communal lounge area, four kitchens and ample shower rooms and bathrooms. Limited vehicle parking is also available. Internet access sockets have been installed in study bedrooms. Computers connected to these sockets have access to all of the computing resources, including filestore, e-mail and print facilities, and use of the Internet for restricted web browsing.

Lyon Crescent, Bridge of Allan

Lyon Crescent comprises 36 houses, each with five single study bedrooms. Each house has a kitchen/lounge area, bathroom and separate shower room. Situated in a quiet, residential area of Bridge of Allan, Lyon Crescent offers easy access (five minutes' walk) to local shops and banks. The main bus route is also close at hand, with Bridge of Allan railway station some ten minutes' walk away.

Limited background heating is included within the sessional rent, with students required to pay any remaining electricity costs.

Friarscroft

Friarscroft

Located just off-campus, but within easy reach of all teaching buildings, Friarscroft comprises 11 study bedrooms, of varying sizes. Each bedroom is equipped with a wash hand basin. The property also boasts a kitchen/dining area, several bathrooms and a shower room area. Limited vehicle parking is also available.

John Forty's Court, Stirling

One of the University's newer properties, John Forty's Court is let mainly to undergraduate students, but also has 14, seven bedroom, flats reserved for postgraduate students. Each bedroom enjoys en suite facilities (personal shower, wash hand basin and toilet). Each flat is equipped with a large kitchen/sitting area. With an on-site laundry, 24 hour portering and ample car parking and bicycle storage, John Forty's Court is a popular choice with students who prefer to stay off-campus and closer to Stirling city centre.

Thistle Chambers

This accommodation is situated in the centre of Stirling above the main shopping centre and consists of 6 flats of varying sizes comprising of 5, 6 and 7 single study bedrooms, large kitchen/sitting area, shower rooms and toilet facilities. All kitchen areas are equipped with cookers, fridge/freezers and microwave ovens. There is also a laundry facility on site.

Heating and lighting, and limited cleaning, are included in the rental fee charged

 Union Street Development

The Union Street Flats are located off-campus, in the city of Stirling itself. Some 266 rooms are available within Union Street's four and six bedroom flats. Shower, WC and kitchen facilities are shared, with all kitchens equipped with cookers and fridge freezers.

Union Street also benefits from 24-hour Concierge cover.
