While moving away from home for the first time can be a daunting prospect for a teenager, it is quite possible that there is an equally large effect on the parents/guardians of our new students.
The University of Stirling prides itself in providing excellent facilities for its new students, and Residential Services provides information to the parents/guardians of students in an effort to ease what concerns you may have.
Residential Services has for several years committed itself to finding a place for all new first year students in University accommodation, and this commitment continues today, with first year students getting first priority for accommodation. Our four Halls of Residence, totalling around 1,000 places, are set aside for first year accommodation.
Residential Services encourages both prospective students and their parents to attend one of the Applicants Days or Open Days organised by Student Recruitment and Admissions. These days are highly informative not only with regards to the academic standing of the University of Stirling, but include tours of entertainment facilities and our world class sports facilities. These visits also give you the opportunity to visit the residences while they are occupied by the previous year’s first year students.
