Student Marketing projectsMarketing consultancy opportunities via integrated projects to course modules. The modules enable groups of 6 or 7 students to be assigned to the investigation of a particular marketing topic currently facing an individual organisation. At the end of the 12 week period the organisation will receive a written report and a group presentation on the conclusions and recommendations of their investigation. This provides a unique opportunity to achieve highly cost-effective marketing analysis and understanding in today’s more stringent business environment. Howietoun Fisheries - Fish stocking/breeding for anglingOperated as a commercial fishery since 1881, Howietoun near Stirling is one of the oldest fish farms in Scotland. Brown trout hatched at Howietoun have been stocked for angling throughout the world and are famous for their quality. In 1979, the farm was acquired by the University of Stirling and it has continued to apply new technologies to the best traditions of aquaculture. Both brown trout and Atlantic salmon smolts are available from Howietoun. |

Nial Bromage Freshwater Research Unit (Aquaculture)The unit is gravity fed from the nearby Buckieburn reservoir, which provides over two million gallons a day of temperature stable water. The facility has a total of seventy-four flow-through tanks ranging from 600 to 25000 litres in volume and is ideally suited for research on salmonids, principally Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout. |

The Aquarium can also supply Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) lines of Zebra danio (Microbacteria). We have facilities to undertake warm water feed trials. |

Slides are produced from a wide range of materials, mainly soils, rocks, sediments and vegetation such as roots amongst other materials.
