50th Anniversary badge

The University of Stirling will celebrate its 50th Anniversary from January 2017 to December 2017. These guidelines have been developed to ensure the consistent application of our 50th Anniversary badge. You’ll be introduced to everything that makes up our visual identity.

Our logo

The logo is the most visible element of our identity – a universal signature across all activity during our 50th year. It’s a guarantee of quality that unites our diverse offering.

Our logo has three basic elements. The ‘wordmarque’1, which is the words ‘University of Stirling’, the ‘crest’2 and the ‘50 year badge’3.

You must always use master artwork when reproducing the logo.

‌‌

Logo exclusion zone

Our logo needs to stand out. If there are lots of other elements crowding around it, it loses its impact.

The exclusion zone refers to the minimum amount of space we should have around the logo. It’s worth remembering that this is just a minimum – it’s better to give the logo more space than this.

We measure the exclusion zone by taking the height of the crest and using it to mark out the surrounding area. No other elements should encroach on this clear space.

Minimum size

It’s also important to keep our logo legible, so we have provided a minimum size for reproduction.

‌‌‌

Alignment points

It may not always be possible to use the primary logo. The badge may be divorced from the wordmarque and crest, but should rest on the alignment points as indicated.

Our signature 50 badge

A specific lock-up has been created including the word ‘Celebrating’.

This may be used separately from the University of Stirling logo.

You must always use master artwork when reproducing the logo.

Stationery using the gold logo and 50th badge is reserved for a limited number of users during the celebratory year.

The Principal’s Office and the Directorate for Advancement will make use of the gold version.

All other Directorates and Faculties will use the celebratory 50th stationery with a green logo and 50th badge.
