Atrium redevelopment project

The University is in the early stages of developing ideas to transform the Atrium into a vibrant and attractive student-centred environment which will include a range of centrally located core services including:

  • Increased flexible social and informal learning space
  • A new, dedicated Student Services Centre, supported by a comprehensive front line enquiry and support facility, where students can access a wide range of professional administrative, support and development services
  • Retail facilities and catering provision
  • Flexible, multi-purpose meeting spaces

These services will complement the high quality library and IT facilities currently available, converting the Atrium into a truly student-focused one-stop-shop environment designed to meet a comprehensive range of students’ needs.

Have your say

The University is keen to ensure the design for the space and services in the Atrium is firmly based on student and staff feedback. For example, we would like to know:

  • Which services would you like to have a presence in the Student Service Centre?
  • What retail and catering provision would you like to see in the Atrium?
  • What type of learning areas would you like to see included?
  • How would you like the Atrium to look and feel?
  • Which facilities in the Atrium do you use most often?

There are a number of ways in which students and staff will be able to feed their thoughts into the atrium redevelopment, including focus groups, roadshows and by email.

Focus groups for students and staff took place in April and May.

If you were unable to attend a focus group but would like to have your say on any aspect of the Atrium redevelopment, please email your ideas or suggestions to studentsupport@stir.ac.uk.

More information about the redevelopment of the Atrium will be available here as the project progresses.
