Jennifer Harrison

Director of Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement

Jennifer Harrison was appointed as Director of Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement in January 2017, having previously held the posts of Head of Communications, and Acting Deputy Director of Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement at the University of Stirling.

She joined Stirling after 10 years at Queen’s University Belfast where she was Head of Public Affairs.   Prior to this Jennifer worked for the House of Commons, both in Westminster and in their outpost in the European Parliament in Brussels, reporting on EU affairs. 

A personal and professional highlight was working for two months at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games where she supported the Chairman, Lord Coe, as part of his Executive Office team during the Games.  

Jennifer is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, and also holds a Certificat d’Etudes Politiques from L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Grenoble, a Masters degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe Bruges, Belgium, and a Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Responsibilities:

The Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement Directorate is focussed on enhancing and protecting the University’s reputation for excellence in the student experience, teaching and learning, and high-quality research with global impact, across a wide range of communications channels.  Areas of responsibility include: media relations; corporate communications; internal communications; social media; marketing; and digital content.
